REAL estate consultants Hollis has announced the appointment of chartered quantity surveyor, Danny McKinney, as an associate in its growing cost management team in Scotland.

Based in Glasgow, the firm said demand for its cost management and commercial advisory services continues to accelerate across Scotland.

The team is currently delivering a ‘strong and diverse’ pipeline of projects including in Glasgow across Finnieston, Chinatown, and the Egyptian Halls; Leddie in Aberlady; the Kithmore Hotel in St Andrews; Thorntons’ office fit-out in Dundee; Dentons’ office fit-out in Glasgow; an extension for M&S in Aberdeen and SoCo in Edinburgh.

Danny joins Hollis from Storrier & Donaldson. He holds an MSc in construction management, specialising in project management, and brings experience delivering cost management and quantity surveying services across a range of projects throughout the UK.

He is particularly passionate about service quality and innovation, with a strong interest in the implementation of BIM within quantity surveying. Danny is currently exploring methods to link BIM objects directly with NRM measurement items.

Greg McCallum, cost management lead for Scotland head, said, “Danny’s appointment is a real coup for our Scottish business and for our cost management service line. We’re seeing growing demand from clients who want rigorous, commercially focused advice delivered by people who really understand buildings and projects inside out. Danny brings exactly the blend of technical depth, leadership experience and forward-thinking mindset that fits the Hollis culture perfectly. His arrival strengthens an already excellent team and supports our continued growth across Scotland.”

Danny commented, “I’ve spent my career building and leading teams focused on delivering high-quality, trusted cost management advice, so joining Hollis at this point in its journey is hugely exciting. The firm’s independence, technical strength and multi-disciplinary approach really stand out, and the pipeline of projects in Scotland is impressive. I’m looking forward to helping grow the cost management team and continuing to push innovation, particularly around how BIM and measurement can work together to deliver even better outcomes for clients.”
