Hotel set to open in Inverness following £6m investment

THE Ambassador Hotel is to open in Inverness on January 17 following a £6 million investment.

Housed within two Victorian townhouses dating back to 1874, the newly restored Ambassador Hotel is the latest addition to the Black Sheep Hotels Group portfolio and features 14 individually designed rooms and suites.

Opening on the same day is Talk of the Town, a new continental and Indian restaurant located within the hotel, and The Other Room, a library bar. The extensive renovation has carefully preserved the building’s architectural heritage, retaining key original features including the external façade and staircases, while reimagining the interiors to offer a blend of antiques, period character and contemporary luxury.

The hotel’s 14 themed rooms and signature suites are inspired by 19th-century travel and the Scottish landscape, offering guests a distinctive boutique stay in the heart of Inverness. Talk of the Town is named after a famous Bombay restaurant established in 1968 and brings a Scottish-Indian dining concept to the city. The restaurant is led by corporate executive Chef Sinclair Pinto, who has worked in Michelin Star restaurants with world famous chefs, including Angela Hartnett and Helen Darroze.
