BRIAR Homes has started enabling works and construction on a new 137-property development in Kennoway, Fife.
The £40 million Weavers View site will deliver 123 homes for sale, alongside 14 homes for social rent on behalf of Fife Council.
The move marks the housebuilder’s first development in Fife, offering a mix of three and four-bedroom homes.
The name, Weavers View, pays tribute to Kennoway’s historic weaving industry, reflecting the village’s artisan past when weaving, shoemaking, malting, and brewing were key trades for local residents.
Paul Kelly, MD of Briar Homes, said, “We’re excited to reveal the name Weavers View as we start work on site. Kennoway has a rich history and a strong sense of community, and these new homes will provide much-needed housing for first-time buyers and growing families. The name celebrates the village’s heritage while looking forward to its future.”
Briar Homes’ expansion into Fife follows a £10 million funding package secured from Bank of Scotland, supporting the creation of 310 new homes across several Scottish sites.
Colin Bennett, investment director at Housing Growth Partnership, added, “Briar Homes are a trusted long-term partner of HGP and we are delighted to continue to support the business growth plans through our Regional Growth Initiative, which enables HGP to support both Briar’s current sites and those coming through its planning pipeline. We look forward to seeing the local impact Weavers View will bring, delivering much needed new homes to the area.”
