A planning application for 48 affordable homes at Ravenscraig has been approved by North Lanarkshire Council.
Submitted by McTaggart Construction, North Lanarkshire Council and Ravenscraig Limited, the homes will add to the growing residential community within the site of the former steelworks. The development will consist of three residential blocks totalling 48 one and two-bedroom flats as well as resident car parking and open landscaping incorporated into the design.
Ravenscraig is one of Europe’s largest regeneration projects. More than 1,000 homes have already been delivered, alongside £4.7 million in education contributions to North Lanarkshire Council.
The latest approval comes amid strong progress across the site, including investment of £12 million by Fusion Assets Ltd to deliver a multi-let industrial scheme and a new vehicle workshop and sales facility by Motus Commercials both progressing within Ravenscraig’s SevenFourEight employment hub. Additionally, proposals are being progressed by Apatura for a £3.9 billion green AI data campus at Ravenscraig that could create 2,400 jobs.
