GLASGOW-headquartered Lochlie Construction has announced that the business has achieved a £10 million revenue milestone.

The firm, which delivers construction and refurbishment projects, steel buildings and renewables services, is now targeting doubling this to £20 million by 2030.

Founded in 2014 by father and son duo, Douglas and David Aitken, Lochlie has grown to the point where it now has 72 employees.

In an effort to support future opportunities and modernise operations, the firm has placed an emphasis on digital transformation and has been undertaking a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the University of the West of Scotland and Innovate UK which focuses on AI and automation. As part of the programme, Dr Habib Manzoor PhD, an AI expert and data scientist, has joined Lochlie as its new KTP associate.

The family-run business has also recently launched ‘Ardura by Lochlie Construction’ which focuses on providing services for high-end residential projects. This new business division has already completed a £1.5 million project in Johnstone and is currently working on a project in Strathblane valued at £3.5 million.

MD Douglas Aitken said, “We are so proud to have reached this milestone revenue figure which is testament to the resilience of our business model and the diversified offering including work in sectors outside of construction such as renewables services. This of course would not be possible without the driven and skilled team we have assembled here, whom our clients trust to get the job done to the high standards synonymous with our work.

“We have never been a business to stand still and 2026 is already shaping up to be a remarkable year of growth for Lochlie. We will strive to learn how best we can harness the power of AI and automation to support our skilled workforce, making us more efficient and enhancing our service to clients in the process. We are excited for the future and looking forward to continuing to push the boundaries with the latest technology at our disposal as we solidify our reputation as Scotland’s contractor of choice.”

Construction director Tom Tracy added, “I have been working within the construction industry for over 30 years, but Lochlie’s drive and sheer curiosity to challenge itself on the most complex projects is second to none. As the business continues to grow in a controlled manner, I’m personally looking forward to bringing my decades of experience working within volume new build housing to the luxury market under the new Ardura brand as we unlock further growth potential for the wider Lochlie business.”
