Ark Estates expands Inverness commercial property portfolio

HIGHLAND property investment and development company, Ark Estates, has expanded its Inverness commercial property portfolio with the acquisition of the former RBS premises at 29-31 Harbour Road, Inverness.

The two-storey 10,035 sq ft retail/office building is set within a 0.572-acre site and was, until recently, the Highland headquarters of RBS. The flat roof building is set to be demolished to open the site up for redevelopment.

Ark Estates MD Willie Gray said, We are delighted to have acquired this high profile site on Harbour Road. After taking down the current flat roof building we will redevelop the site, which – with a 0.572-acre footprint and a prime location – would be suitable for a number of commercial uses. Subject to negotiation with any prospective new tenant, we will replace the dated building with a bespoke new, energy efficient structure with substantial yard or parking provision.

Ark Estates is working with property agents, Graham + Sibbald, in seeking a new long-term tenant for the site.

Kenny McKenzie, associate (commercial) at letting agents for the property, Graham + Sibbald, commented, Theres real demand from the commercial property market for modern, energy efficient units, and we look forward to receiving submissions of interest for this prime site. Ark Estates is leading the way with the work it has done on its portfolio of properties across the Longman Industrial estate, introducing sustainable technologies to future proof them for long term tenants, and we expect much interest in such a rarely available redevelopment opportunity.
