THE South East Regional Delivery Alliance (SE-RDA) has announced a milestone with its Bundle 1 projects of 109 affordable housing moving into construction in early 2026.
Initially developed as part of the Edinburgh Home Demonstrator, the projects, located in Wallyford, East Lothian, and Burdiehouse, Edinburgh, were selected from a group of 12 sites that underwent a collaborative feasibility study.
A design team assessed the viability of all 12 locations, achieving efficiencies through consecutive site reviews and the use of SE-RDA’s standard flat and house typologies.
Following the feasibility study, CCG (Scotland) has led its design team through the pre-construction phase resulting in the Wallyford and Burdiehouse projects securing planning permission within a fortnight of each other. The team is now advancing the projects through the building warrant process, while the tender costs are finalised.
Paul Dodd, senior associate director at the Scottish Futures Trust, which is a SE-RDA partner, said, “Bundle 1 represents an important milestone for the South East Regional Delivery Alliance. By working collaboratively and leveraging shared expertise across multiple sites, we are delivering high-quality, affordable homes more efficiently than ever before. We look forward to breaking ground on these projects next year and continuing to expand affordable housing across the region.”
CCG MD David Wylie added, “CCG is a proud partner of the SE-RDA. Our involvement dates back to 2020, when we delivered the first pilot project of what was then known as the Edinburgh Home Demonstrator. We are now pleased to support Bundle 1, where our work will play a key role in meeting local housing needs in two prominent towns across two major local authorities.”
