SPRINGFIELD Properties and Tulloch Homes, part of the Springfield Group, have been spreading Christmas cheer to charities across Scotland nominated by their customers.
The business has been encouraging members of the community to nominate charities who will each receive a £500 donation as part of the firm’s Christmas Cheer campaign.
At the Springfield Villages Dykes of Gray in Dundee, Bertha Park in Perth, Elgin South in Moray and at the Tulloch Homes development The Maples in Inverness, residents have been asked to nominate charities that are meaningful to them.
Across each of the developments, over 30 nominations were received. Seven charities, ranging from ones that support vulnerable people to organisations that help address wellbeing and groups that bring the community together, have been selected to receive a Christmas donation.
At Dykes of Gray in Dundee, residents put forward an overwhelming number of charities tackling local poverty. Togs for Tots, which provides clothing, equipment and a food bank for families – supporting more than 1,710 children last year – and Help for Kids, which assists disadvantaged children across Dundee and Perth, especially stood out.
In Perth’s Bertha Park, residents selected two organisations making a vital difference: Mindspace, offering crisis support and counselling for all ages, and The Salvation Army, which supports people experiencing homelessness and provides Christmas dinners for those in need.
In Moray, every Elgin South nomination backed the same cause: Moray Women’s Aid. The charity, which delivers services for victims of domestic abuse, will receive £500.
At The Maples in Inverness, built by Tulloch Homes, residents chose Highlands and Islands Blood Bikes and L’Arche Highland. Blood Bikes provides transport of medical supplies for NHS Highland. L’Arche Highland supports people with learning disabilities.
Springfield Group chief executive Innes Smith said, “We’re pleased to bring back our Christmas Cheer campaign and involve our customers to help select charities that have such a positive impact in the communities where we are building. We understand the importance of community across the Springfield Group – and that extends beyond our neighbours and into the wider area too.”
