Historic Inverness mansion house restoration plans unveiled

Mansion house in Inverness

PLANS for the restoration and conversion of a B-listed mansion house in Inverness have been unveiled by Tulloch Homes.

The award-winning Drummond Hill development has just nine homes remaining – including six apartments within the historic mansion house which have now hit the market.

Dating back to the 19th century, the Victorian mansion was designed by Inverness architect Alexander Ross and was once home to local solicitor William Burns and his wife Mary Jane Fraser. Their marriage stone, with their initials engraved, still sits above the threshold.

Tulloch Homes is ‘sensitively’ restoring and converting the mansion into six two-bedroom apartments.

MD Kieran Graham said, “The homes at Drummond Hill are truly one of a kind. The development is spoiled with open green space, seasonal landscaping and established woodland to create a perception of seclusion and privacy while benefitting from city life a stone’s throw away.

“The mansion apartments are equally special. Each layout is one of a kind and, with the distinguished Tulloch quality and specification, is complete with original feature fireplaces, high ceilings and restored sash and case windows. Two of the apartments even benefit from private entrances and walled gardens.”
