Falkirk civils firm honoured at supply chain awards

GBSS award win

FALKIRK-based civil engineering firm GBSS has been named Supply Chain Partner of the Year at the Tilbury Douglas Scottish Supply Chain Roadshow.

The accolade was presented in recognition of the firm’s approach to teamwork, communication, and consistently high-quality project delivery. GBSS also received the annual Health and Safety award for its commitment to safe working.

The annual Supply Chain Roadshows bring together Tilbury Douglas’ project teams and supply chain partners from across the UK to review performance and highlight best practice. A small number of internal awards are presented to recognise contractors who demonstrate ‘exceptional collaboration, reliable delivery and a positive contribution’ on site, with winners voted for by Tilbury Douglas’ employees.

GBSS has delivered groundworks for Tilbury Douglas across several projects including a new primary school in Methven, Perthshire and NATS (National Air Traffic Services), an air traffic control centre in Prestwick.

MD David Owens said, “It was a real surprise and a proud moment for us. Awards like this aren’t about one project or one person – they’re about how you show up every day. We’ve always tried to build honest relationships with our partners and keep things straightforward on site, and I think that’s what this award reflects. Our teams work exceptionally hard week in, week out, and it’s great to see that effort recognised by a partner we respect in not only one but two awards.”

Barry O’Hagan, regional director Scotland at Tilbury Douglas, added, “GBSS has been an excellent partner to collaborate with, and the team fully merits this award. They are dependable, consistent in their performance, and deliver to a high standard.

“What distinguishes them most is their professional approach and that they arrive well prepared, maintain clear communication, and present solutions proactively. This contributes significantly to smoother project delivery and strengthens the partnership. The award reflects the respect they have earned within our organisation.”
