RAVENSCRAIG Ltd has teamed up with Motherwell FC Community Trust to host a 2025 Festive Friends Christmas lunch for older and socially isolated members of the local community.
The event is taking place on December 2 at Motherwell Football Club’s Fir Park stadium.
Delivered in partnership with the SPFL Trust, Festive Friends provides a free Christmas lunch, entertainment, and a welcoming environment for older adults who may otherwise spend the festive season alone.
This year, Ravenscraig Ltd, the company leading one of Europe’s largest brownfield regeneration projects, has pledged its support for Festive Friends in Motherwell. The organisation will donate £2,800 to cover the cost of meals for attendees, while representatives will volunteer at the event.
Dawn Middleton, CEO, Motherwell FC Community Trust, said, “Festive Friends is one of my favourite events of the year, it’s a wonderful demonstration of the fantastic community spirit of our club. We’re grateful for the support from Ravenscraig this year alongside our volunteers who all help the event to go ahead. The event gets bigger every year, and it’s a privilege to bring joy to the community once again this Christmas.”
Russell Wilkie, director at Ravenscraig Limited, added, “It’s great to be able to support Festive Friends and help bring festive cheer to those who may otherwise spend this time of year alone. Community is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re proud to be part of this special event.”
