THE Morris & Spottiswood Group has been appointed to deliver a £2 million refurbishment at Waverley Gate in Edinburgh city centre.
The listed building – a former post office and now one of the largest office spaces in Edinburgh – is home to a number of blue-chip occupiers. The building features a spectacular roof garden overlooking Edinburgh Castle.
The project will return level 2 of the building to landlord standard for a new incoming tenant. Morris & Spottiswood will deliver the flooring and specialist joinery package, while Livingston Building Services, part of the Morris & Spottiswood Group, is undertaking the mechanical and electrical works. Together, the group said its divisions will ensure the building is refurbished to the ‘highest standards while preserving its architectural character’.
Paul Beaton, development director at Morris & Spottiswood, said, “This project is in one of Edinburgh’s most iconic office buildings. We are proud to be working with Kennedy Wilson to prepare Waverley Gate for its next chapter, combining our M&E expertise with high-quality fit-out and joinery services.”
