MACKENZIE Construction has secured the £600,000 contract to deliver Renfrewshire Council’s Ferguslie Park Greenline – Belltrees project as part of the next stage of the area’s regeneration.
The project will restore 2.69 hectares of derelict land and includes a new multi-functional greenspace; a natural play trail, event space, and new landscape features; two new shared pedestrian and cycle routes linking to local schools and services; enhanced biodiversity through native planting and grassland management; and drainage improvements to manage surface water during rainfall.
Construction work will get underway in January and will be completed in summer 2026.
Councillor Andy Steel, convener of Renfrewshire Council’s economy and regeneration policy board, said, “This is another fantastic step forward for the regeneration of Ferguslie Park as projects continue to be delivered that make a real difference to the local community and the people who live there. This project will bring back into use a significant piece of land for residents and visitors to enjoy and it follows on the back of the new Neighbourhood Centre activity space being created which is already extremely well used by local people.
“We’ll continue to work hard to deliver exciting, beneficial projects for Ferguslie as we continue its transformation and ensure it remains a place that people are proud to live.”
