Clark Contracts wins award for University of Glasgow project

CLARK Contracts has won the Refurbishment of the Year category of the 2025 Learning Places Scotland Awards, following the firm’s refurbishment of the Maths and Stats Building at the University of Glasgow.

The historic building was revamped to feature modern workspaces, as well as the installation of ‘striking’ mathematical façade graphics that visually represent the academic excellence taking place within.

Clark Contracts was shortlisted in a variety of categories including Contractor of the Year, Innovation in Delivering a Sustainable Learning Space, Inspiring Learning Spaces, and Pupil/Student Experience.

The Maths and Stats refurbishment was delivered for the University of Glasgow, in collaboration with Gleeds, JM Architects, Brown + Wallace, RSP Consulting Engineers and Fairhurst.

Gerry Cummins, director at Clark Contracts, said, “To have our project awarded ‘Refurbishment of the Year’, and to have seven other projects shortlisted across the categories at this year’s Learning Places Scotland Awards is a fantastic achievement. We look forward to continuing our partnership with long-term customer, the University of Glasgow, and to delivering further high-quality, sustainable, and inspiring spaces within the education sector.”
