THE CCG Group is undertaking a supply and fit window replacement programme with Shettleston Housing Association in the east end of Glasgow.
700 units will be installed across 91 households, with final completions expected in time for the Christmas holidays.
The triple-glazed PVCu windows being installed are CCG’s own, fabricated in the firm’s site in Cambuslang. Each window utilises a Secure by Design-accredited PVCu profile from REHAU UK.
Described as ‘highly durable and impervious to both weathering and rot’, CCG said the windows will result in reduced maintenance requirements. When parts need replacing, a QR code feature – REAHU Window.ID – can be scanned and digitally logged.
Furthermore, A-rated energy performance and modern ironmongery will boost the homes’ thermal performance and enhance security. The window profile also boasts green credentials, with a proportion of recycled material ranging from 40% to 75% in more than 40% of REHAU profiles.
Colette McKenna, Shettleston HA director of property services, said, “This is a significant investment project for Shettleston, and we’re delighted to be working with CCG’s Asset Management team, supporting local manufacture and delivery. The installation of these premium energy-efficient windows will have a really positive impact for our tenants, making homes more comfortable, keeping heat in and helping to reduce fuel costs.”
The supply and fit contract was directly awarded to CCG through Scotland Excel and will be undertaken by CCG Asset Management, the company’s planned maintenance division.
Jim Cunningham, CCG Asset Management manager, added, “We are delighted to be working with Shettleston Housing Association once again. By being in such proximity to the association and their tenants, we will be able to offer a truly local and responsive customer service, while the window products themselves will deliver on both quality and design.”
Samsara McDonald, REHAU commercial sales manager, commented, “CCG is a well-established partner of REHAU in Scotland, and we take great pleasure in supporting them on such a significant project for Shettleston Housing Association. The installation of new energy-efficient windows will help tenants feel warm and safe inside their homes this Christmas, while the use of our cutting-edge Window.ID digital identification system will help streamline repairs for years to come.”
