SCOTLAND is gearing up for a return to the global stage at MIPIM 2026 – the annual real estate conference in France – as property experts accelerate plans to put Scotland back on the map for global investors.

Earlier this year, a taskforce of businesses and stakeholders from across Scotland’s built environment sector was established to ensure the nation has a strong presence at the world’s premier property event, uniting public and private sectors to attract investment and occupiers.

Founding partners – including MLA, PMP, Saffery, Civic, Robertson Group, Brodies, oobe, Drum, and Place North – formed a working group to confront the question: “Why is Scotland missing from MIPIM?”

To answer that, the team is now driving a delegation of public and private organisations to the real estate conference in Cannes, which attracts more than 20,000 delegates from 90 countries.

The team will host a breakfast briefing in Brodies’ Edinburgh office on Wednesday 3 December between 8.30 – 10am to unveil plans for Scotland’s presence at MIPIM.

Jonathan Guthrie, director for strategic partnerships at Robertson Group and chair of Scottish Property Federation (SPF), will deliver a keynote address. He said, “MIPIM is a unique platform that connects Scotland with global investors and decision-makers. By showcasing our strengths and ambitions on this international stage, we will attract the capital, partnerships, and occupiers needed to drive sustainable growth.

“Working and standing together, we can create and unlock new opportunities for our businesses and communities. I am delighted that our industry has rallied such strong support, over the past few months, with a single focus on putting Scotland back on the map at this global event. The breakfast briefing is an opportunity to discuss between us all, what we are aiming to achieve at MIPIM 2026 for Scotland.”

Following the inaugural event hosted by the taskforce, which attracted speakers including  Susan Aitken, leader of Glasgow City Council, the Scotland at MIPIM campaign has already gained momentum with new companies coming on board, including Collective Architecture.

Scotland at MIPIM will now have a base at the official MIPIM conference within the UK Hub. The space will provide partners and the wider delegates with a focal point to meet and discuss the investment opportunities available in Scotland.

More than 80 attendees have already signed up, and those interested are encouraged to register before the remaining spaces are filled. To register interest, contact Kay Quillan at K.Quillan@mlaarchitects.co.uk
