BALFOUR Beatty has opened a new operational depot in Kirriemuir, Angus, supporting up to 70 local jobs.
Located at Logie Industrial Park, the new facility is being leased in partnership with local small business Delson Contracts Ltd. Balfour Beatty is one of SSEN Transmission‘s key contractors for the delivery of its electricity transmission infrastructure investment programme.
Operations have commenced at the depot and, pending final planning determinations linked to SSEN Transmission’s proposed projects, is expected to remain in operation until at least 2031. Once fully operational, the site will have the capacity to support up to 70 jobs, providing a range of opportunities in both office-based and on-site project delivery roles.
Currently spanning 2.5 acres, the facility will expand to a 16-acre site as activity increases, offering essential office space, storage, and laydown areas for materials used across SSEN Transmission’s projects. This will help ensure efficient delivery of infrastructure critical to connecting renewable energy and supporting Scotland’s net zero ambitions.
