TAYLOR Wimpey East Scotland has unveiled plans for the build of 141 homes on land in the Kingswood area of Dunfermline.

The development will be known as Dunfermline’s New City Quarter, with planning permission in principle already having been secured for the wider Kingswood masterplan.

The recently submitted approval of matters specified in conditions planning application to Fife Council sets out Taylor Wimpey East Scotland’s detailed proposals for housing, landscaping, and building materials for its development.

The proposals include a mix of two, three, four, and five-bedroom homes to appeal to a wide range of potential buyers and will feature a new range of homes the housebuilder plans to build in Scotland.

The development will also benefit from the convenience of the M90 motorway network and transport links of Dunfermline nearby. It will also provide over two acres of open space, as well as new pedestrian and cycle links to the existing networks around Dunfermline, and green connections to the surrounding area.

Enjoying what Taylor Wimpey said is a semi-rural feel within an established countryside setting, the wider Kingswood masterplan, which took inspiration from The Grand Plan for Dunfermline and was unveiled 100 years ago, will include the provision of two primary schools, shops, employment and commercial units, as well as healthcare facilities, parks and green space.

The wider masterplan will also provide 25% affordable housing, is expected to be home to around 4,700 people on its completion and create more than 7,000 jobs, Taylor Wimpey added.

Pauline Mills, technical director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, added, “We are delighted to confirm that we have made an AMSC planning application for the development of our land at Kingswood, Dunfermline. Our proposed development forms part of the approved wider Kingswood masterplan.

“This planning application represents our significant and continued investment in the local Fife area, and we look forward to positive discussions with the local authority to progress with this development.

“Our proposed development at Kingswood will also take an industry-leading approach to biodiversity, introducing bug hotels, bird and bat boxes, bee-friendly planting, and high-quality landscaping throughout.

“Along with an impressive range of new homes, our proposed development will also provide a range of economic benefits for the local Dunfermline area. This includes supporting new jobs for every year of construction and attracting new customers to local businesses from those who choose to live in one of the new homes this development aims to deliver.”
