MCTAGGART Construction has completed the build of 11 new residential properties in Killearn for Rural Stirling Housing Association (RSHA).
The development is said to represent a ‘vital contribution’ to addressing housing needs in the picturesque village. The site comprises nine social housing units and two shared equity properties.
RSHA enlisted MacDonald & Cameron as project management consultants to oversee the development process.
Rural Stirling Housing Association chair Fiona Boath said, “We are delighted to be launching our new homes at Lampson Road. They come just a few months after we unveiled other much-welcomed new properties in nearby Croftamie. Affordable homes are vital for the communities we serve across Rural Stirlingshire to address an ongoing need for housing, and we are strongly committed to keep on building.”
McTaggart said the mix of social housing and shared equity properties ensures families across different income levels can access quality housing in this sought-after rural location, helping to maintain the diverse community fabric in Killearn.
“We’re delighted to have successfully delivered these 11 high-quality homes in Killearn,” said Janice Russell, MD at McTaggart Construction. “Working alongside MacDonald & Cameron and RSHA has been very rewarding, and we’re proud to have contributed to addressing the housing needs in this beautiful rural setting. This project represents our commitment to creating sustainable housing solutions that genuinely serve local communities.”
McTaggart partnered with Stirling Employability Partnership to deliver multiple career input sessions throughout the build period. The company also hosted a career information event as part of Balfron High School’s pathway initiative, engaging every S3-S6 pupil and providing insights into the diverse career opportunities and apprenticeship routes available within the construction industry. The business also welcomed a sixth-year pupil for a work experience placement.
