JR Scaffold has received the prestigious Silver Award from the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).

The Paisley-based scaffolding firm was one of only 24 organisations from across the lowlands of Scotland to earn the honour, which acknowledges outstanding commitment to supporting members of the armed forces community.

The awards ceremony took place at the Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life in Coatbridge, where certificates were presented by Air Officer Scotland, Air Commodore Mark Northover, on behalf of the defence secretary. Representing JR Scaffold at the event, Evan Horne proudly accepted the accolade on behalf of the entire team.

The Silver Award represents the second-highest level of recognition within the ERS and is reserved for organisations that go above and beyond in their support for defence personnel. To qualify, each recipient must have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, demonstrating a firm commitment to fair treatment, advocacy, and alignment with the values of the armed forces.

Evan Horne said, “JR Scaffold is immensely proud to be recognised as a Silver Award ERS employer. It was fantastic to attend the ceremony and meet like-minded businesses who share our values and commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community. Building on our Bronze Award achievements, we’ll continue to champion our status as a Forces-friendly employer, supporting the recruitment of veterans and accommodating colleagues who serve as reservists. This recognition reflects our ongoing dedication to providing opportunities and flexibility for those who serve our country.”
