THE JR Group has announced the sponsorship of Hamilton Academical women’s team player Chloe Muir.
The firm’s backing will help the promising talent as whilst she plays against top flight teams across the country in the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) this season.
Chloe, who has also worked as part of The JR Group for the past two years, as a drawing control administrator and purchasing assistant, will assist the company’s upcoming new developments in and around the Hamilton area.
She said, “I started playing football at the age of five with my boy best friends in my neighbourhood, where we would play football every day in my front garden after school before joining a team when I turned 10 years old.
“Since then, I’ve been able to play for sides such as Glasgow City F.C., Rangers F.C. and even the Scotland under 16’s women’s team, but I’ve always felt at home with Hamilton Accies.”
Robert Watson, manager of the Hamilton Academical Women’s team, added, “Chloe was an integral part of our Scottish Power Women’s Premier League 2 Championship winning season last year.
“She is already a club Legend with more than 100 appearances for us, and it was thrilling to see her pick up silverware wearing the Accies kit after so many years of hard work and dedication to playing football.
“Playing at an elite level of sport while juggling full time work is extremely difficult and Chloe has made so many sacrifices to continue to be able to play at a level against the very best the country has to offer.
“While we face an incredibly difficult challenge moving into the country’s top League, SWPL 1, we believe we can upset the odds and retain our topflight status when we have players like Chloe in our squad”.
Chloe added, “It’s very much appreciated for The JR Group to sponsor me this season. It means a lot knowing that those I work with on a day-to-day basis support me and my life within football outside the workplace.
“I would like to thank everyone at The JR Group massively and I hope we can experience a great season together in partnership.”
Andrew Dallas, projects director at The JR Group, commented, “We’ve always been proud of Chloe and her achievements, both within and outside her role at The JR Group. With her reaching such a commendable level at the top of women’s football leagues in Scotland, we were more than thrilled to support her season with a sponsorship.”
