MORGAN Sindall Construction has commenced work on the £31.5 million build of Balmuildy Primary School and Early Years Centre in Bishopbriggs.
The East Dunbartonshire Council project is being delivered by hub West Scotland, with the two-storey educational facility being built on the site of the existing school at Stirling Drive.
The dedicated early years centre will have space for 60 children, whilst the school building will accommodate over 460 pupils with ‘bright airy’ classrooms and outdoor terracing on the first floor.
Anticipated to open to pupils in spring 2027, the demolition of the existing school will follow before work then turns to the delivery of a custom-built early-years playground, an all-weather multi-use games area sports pitch, cycle shelters, and hard and soft landscaping.
