TAYLOR Wimpey has announced further progress at its Whitefields neighbourhood in Dunfermline, after an Approval of Matters Specified in Conditions (AMSC) planning application was submitted to Fife Council for the infrastructure required at Halbeath for Phases 2 and 3.

This application is designed to support the future delivery of new homes and includes the provision of main roads, landscaping, SuDS, and open spaces including a section of the Northern Link Road, which will eventually connect to the new rail bridge crossing being delivered by Fife Council.

As Whitefields progresses, Taylor Wimpey explained there will be a range of benefits for the local community including around 1,400 new properties, a new primary school, provision for shops and community facilities, new cycleways and pedestrian footpaths to encourage active travel, and transport infrastructure improvements.

Pauline Mills, technical director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said, “We are delighted to be making good progress in the significant preparations required to create our new Whitefields neighbourhood in north Dunfermline. Our commitment to delivering this project is reflected in our latest AMSC application for infrastructure, which is in preparation for Phases 2 and 3 at Halbeath.

“As many local residents are aware, infrastructure and improvements for Phase 1 are already underway, and we sincerely apologise in advance for any disruptions our current programme of work may cause. We are committed to minimising the impact on the local community and ensuring the work is completed as efficiently and safely as possible.

“Furthermore, we are hopeful that our outstanding AMSC applications for the first residential areas will be concluded shortly, allowing us to start building the first new homes later this year. At this stage, we anticipate that our first homes at Whitefields will go on sale in early 2026.”
