MUIR Construction has announced it has secured three significant contracts worth over £25 million in total.

The contractor will deliver a new bottling hall for Mossburn Distillery in Jedburgh; new industrial units at GSS Newbridge; and undertake the refurbishment of the Younger Building to transform the former RBS Building into a ‘modern and efficient’ workspace.

Muir said the wins reinforce the firm’s position as a leading partner in distillery and industrial delivery, while also demonstrating its commitment to playing a part in transforming office spaces into modern, sustainable facilities that support evolving work practices.

Joint MD Alan Muir said, “Our recent project wins show not only our strength as a business but also a sense of optimism across the industry. Despite challenges such as inflation, lack of funding and a continued skills shortage, we have continued to secure strong pricing from our valued supply chain and maintain resilience through our diverse portfolio and long-standing client relationships.

“Now in a preferred bidder position, we look forward to working collaboratively with our clients and design teams to continue delivering high-quality projects that not only meet but exceed expectations.”

David Fairweather, business development director at Muir Construction, said that while the company is delighted to have secured these new contracts, it is equally important that its growth is matched by a strong commitment to ESG.

“As we continue to work with both new and existing Clients during this exciting period of strategic growth, we understand that we have a responsibility as a leading main contractor to ensure we remain at the forefront of industry innovation and sustainable ‘best practice’. In recent months, we have taken significant steps to drive ourselves forward — not only to meet our own ESG targets but also to align with the expectations of our valued clients.

“Efforts have included signing up to The Buy Social Pledge to strengthen local and inclusive economies, achieving Accredited Living Wage Employer status to ensure fair pay across our sites and supply chain, and beginning to develop an independently verified carbon reduction plan with a leading consultant to support the collective goal of net zero.”
