CLARK Contracts has completed four projects for the University of Glasgow ranging in value from £200,000 to £2 million.
Two laboratory refurbishments have been delivered, including works to relocate an existing semiconductor lab within the Rankine Building and the refurbishment of a mass spectrometer lab within the Molema Building.
The main contractor has also completed the refurbishment of offices on levels two and three of the A-listed Gilbert Scott Building, involving down takings, redecoration, and general refresh works.
Works were also completed to refurbish the law workshop within the A-listed Professor Square, with the creation of a new fully accessible, clearly defined and branded entrance and reception area, with gender neutral toilets, and enhanced welfare and relaxation areas.
Both the Rankine Building semiconductor laboratory project and the Law Workshop have been shortlisted for ‘Refurbishment of the Year’ in the 2025 Learning Places Scotland Awards, which will be held in November.
Clark Contracts has been appointed on the university’s Minor Works Framework since 2006 and delivered projects within many buildings located in the University of Glasgow’s Gilmorehill campus. The contractor is currently on site completing a further three projects for the university.
Gerry Cummins, director, Clark Contracts, said, “Having worked with the University since the 90s and delivering over £25 million of projects in recent years, we have developed close relationships with the Estates team and look forward to continuing to work together on numerous projects in the coming year.”
