THE popular Time Capsule waterpark is set to reopen ahead of schedule on July 19, North Lanarkshire Council has announced.

The water park closed earlier this year to allow for important upgrade work, with improvements including over a mile of new wiring with the addition of a new colour-changing underwater LED lights.

New pumps and blowers for the waterfalls and river rapids have also been introduced, as well as new soft rubber flooring has been put down at Splashdown Island and Coral Cove. Tiles and the river rapid slides have been repaired, and the shower areas have been updated.

North Lanarkshire Council said that further developments at the centre are being planned, which means that some things are still being worked on and won’t be ready just yet – like the big tipping bucket and the yellow flume. However, the purple flume will be open and ready for use.

Councillor Geraldine Woods, convener of community services at North Lanarkshire Council, said, “We’re really pleased to be welcoming people back to the Time Capsule. These improvements make visiting the water park a more enjoyable experience for everyone.

“Now that the first phase is nearly done, we are delighted to announce that we are once again taking bookings.”
