
CLARK Contracts is celebrating after being shortlisted for various accolades at the Learning Places Scotland Awards, due to be held at the Hilton Glasgow in November.
The Paisley-based contractor is nominated in categories including Contractor of the Year, Innovation in Delivering a Sustainable Learning Space, Inspiring Learning Spaces, Pupil/Student Experience and Refurbishment of the Year.
Clark has delivered of over 50 education projects in the last two years, and boasts decades-long relationships with major education providers. This is particularly evident in the higher education sector, with the contractor formally appointed on framework agreements with the University of Glasgow and University of Strathclyde, and having worked within 14 of the 19 universities across Scotland.
The contractor has eight projects nominated in the ‘Refurbishment of the Year’ category including the refurbishment of the Centre for Executive Education for Glasgow Caledonian University, the Curran Building for the University of Strathclyde, four projects for the University of Glasgow (Graham Kerr Building, Law Workshop, Mathematics and Statistics Building and Rankine Building), and Marress House Early Years Centre for North Ayrshire Council.
Several of the projects are nominated for multiple awards, with the Curran Building for the University of Strathclyde also featured in the Innovation in Delivering a Sustainable Learning Space category and the Centre for Executive Education for Glasgow Caledonian University shortlisted for the Inspiring Learning Spaces award.
The Oriam Tennis centre, constructed for Heriot-Watt University, has been shortlisted for the Pupil/Student Experience award.
