BTO Solicitors LLP has launched CyberProtect, a new service aimed at supporting businesses and public sector bodies in managing the risk of cyber attacks and responding to and recovering from cyber incidents.

The service is designed to assist organisations before, during, and after a cyber attack, helping them to mitigate risks, ensure legal and regulatory compliance and manage complex incidents with confidence.

Lynn Richmond, a partner in BTO’s IP, media, tech & data team, explained, “Our clients are increasingly concerned about the impact of cybercrime – from data breaches to ransomware attacks. BTO’s CyberProtect team provides a dedicated, expert-led service that guides organisations through every stage of the incident lifecycle, combining legal insight with fast, effective action.”

Key features include ‘rapid’ legal support in the event of a data breach, ransomware attack, or other cyber event; guidance on GDPR compliance, ICO notifications, and obligations specific to various industries; and advice on fraud prevention, response, and asset recovery in the wake of cyber-related crime.

Ramsay Hall, a partner in BTO’s financial crime, compliance & investigations team, added, “BTO’s multidisciplinary team ensures clients receive a tailored, end-to-end legal service that supports not only crisis response, but also long-term risk mitigation strategies. This new service underscores BTO’s commitment to helping clients navigate the evolving landscape of cyber threats with certainty and clarity.”
