CAMPION Homes has handed over 21 new affordable properties to Angus Housing Association on the site of the former St Vincent’s Primary School on Pitkerro Road in Dundee.
Constructed to meet the evolving needs of residents, the development features a diverse mix of housing types – including two-bedroom cottage flats, three-bed semi-detached homes, and one-bedroom sheltered flats.
With sustainability at its core, all properties are equipped with solar panels to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon footprints. Additionally, the development includes gas central heating and off-street parking, ensuring modern comfort for residents.
The sheltered flats have been thoughtfully designed to support independent living, featuring walk-in showers, rise-and-fall worktops, and adjustable kitchen units to accommodate varying mobility needs.
Dougie Herd, joint MD at Campion Homes, commented, “At Campion Homes, we remain committed to delivering high-quality, affordable housing that meets the needs of local communities. Our strong relationship with Angus Housing Association has enabled us to create homes that not only provide comfort and security but also prioritise sustainability and accessibility. We are proud to contribute to Dundee’s housing landscape and support Angus Housing Association’s mission to provide safe, modern, and energy-efficient homes for residents.”
Gail Robertson, chief executive of Angus Housing Association, added, “This development will provide much needed high quality affordable homes for an area in significant housing need. Included on this site will be a bespoke, wheelchair-adapted supported accommodation unit which will go towards meeting the needs of some of the most vulnerable members of our communities.
“This supported accommodation unit will be managed by Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership and will be transformative for its future tenants, providing accessible, independent living in a supportive environment.
“Beyond providing homes, this development enhances the physical appearance of the neighbourhood, creating a greener, more connected area that benefits both tenants and the wider community. We are thrilled to play a part in the regeneration of the east end of Dundee, revitalising a derelict piece of land where the former St Vincent’s Primary School stood.
“I wish to give a massive thank you to everyone at Campion Homes for their hard work, professionalism, and commitment throughout the entirety of the project. We look forward to continuing our partnership on future developments.
“I would also like to acknowledge the funding received from the Scottish Government and the hard work and commitment our development team have given to this project, without them both, this development would not have come to fruition.”
