NORSEAL is adding to its portfolio of door seals with a new family of modular drop seals for hinged glass doors.
The Schall-Ex family of seals includes the GSA seal, a face-fix drop seal that the firm revealed makes retrofitting acoustic seals on glass hinged doors possible for the first time.
Designed for both toughened (8mm and 10mm) and laminated safety glass (10.76mm, 12.76mm, and 17.52mm), the system features five variants that Norseal said can be assembled quickly on-site. Thanks to a high-tech adhesive tape, there’s no need for wet bonding or mechanical fixings.
Norseal added that the same fixing tape works quickly to fix the seal to the face of the door, achieving sound insulation values up to 37 dB without having to remove the door.
The solution is described as ‘ideal’ for offices, meeting rooms, healthcare, and education settings. To match the aesthetics of modern interiors, the seals come with a choice of cover plates – not just in stainless steel and silver but also in black and anthracite, with black end stops for a ‘clean, coordinated’ finish.
The inner rail slides out completely to aid length adjustment or replacement of the sealing profile, and each seal in the range is the same height and fully reversible. During fitting, the sliding actuator can be removed and adjusted without tools and then reinserted on handover.
