CW Johnson Plant Ltd has secured the Shetland Islands Council contract to build the new B9082 Gutcher to Cullivoe Road in North Yell.
The local contractor will construct the new 6.8 metre wide, two-lane road that will replace the current single track road.
The £13.3 million project is expected to take two years, with initial groundworks expected to begin this summer, the council said.
