CCG poised to lead £100 million Wyndford regeneration

CCG (Scotland) has announced it has been awarded preferred tenderer to provide primary contractor services for the £100 million regeneration of Wyndford in Maryhill, Glasgow.

The project will see almost 400 new homes built. The scheme, being delivered by hub West Scotland on behalf of Wheatley Homes, follows the recent demolition of three multi-storeys in Wyndford and ongoing demolition of a fourth.

The new homes will be made up of 85% for social rent and 15% for mid-market rent.

David Wylie, MD of CCG (Scotland), said, “This landmark development represents the continuation of CCG’s long-standing and much-valued relationship with Wheatley, as well as a return to working with our collaborative development partner, hub West Scotland. Together, we have delivered affordable, energy-efficient homes across Scotland, and the Wyndford regeneration is among the most significant yet.

“Through our involvement, our industry-leading construction and manufacturing methods, we will ensure these new homes meet the highest standards of quality and environmental performance. Our positive impact will also extend beyond the development, with new opportunities for local employment, apprenticeships, and investment in Maryhill and the wider north Glasgow area.”

CCG added that the regeneration is being shaped by engagement with local tenants, homeowners and businesses, including the tenant-led Wyndford Futures Focus Group.

Frank McCafferty, Wheatley’s group director of assets and development, commented, “We look forward to working with CCG to transform Wyndford and create a bright new future for the community. This is a new dawn for Wyndford, and our regeneration work will transform the area for generations to come. We will continue to work closely with the community to make sure their voices are at the heart of the transformation of the area.”

Iain Marley, CEO of hub West Scotland, added, “The appointment of CCG as preferred tenderer marks another important milestone in the delivery of this landmark, transformational project. Hub West Scotland, in collaboration with CCG, has a strong track record of delivering high-quality homes that are energy efficient, built to last, and affordable to run — ensuring long-term value for both residents and the public purse.

“We are pleased to continue this successful partnership for the benefit of the Wynford project and our partner, Wheatley Group. Together, we are committed not only to delivering high standards of design and construction, but also to maximising social value through local employment, skills development, and investment in local supply chains throughout the construction phase.”

Subject to planning approvals, construction of the new homes is expected to begin in late 2026.

The £100 million regeneration project includes £13 million on environmental improvements in Wyndford, including new bike racks and improved car parking facilities, as well as green spaces, open areas, improved walkways, and cycle paths.

New CCTV and controlled-entry systems installed in 2023, along with a new concierge station, are said to have already helped reduce anti-social behaviour. In May 2025, a new play park was opened for residents at Wyndford. The regeneration will also include a new two-storey community hub.
