Highland housebuilder’s team rises to charity challenge

Charity cheque being handed over

HIGHLAND-based Tulloch Homes, part of the Springfield Group, has raised over £5,000 for Mikeysline as part of the ‘Cup of Kindness’ challenge.

As part of Mikeysline’s ‘Bee the Change’ campaign, the initiative encourages cup holders to embark on three months of fundraising, helping the charity to support those struggling with mental health and/or suicidal thoughts via their text-based and face-to-face support services.

Having been nominated by legal firm Wright, Johnson and Mackenzie LLP, Tulloch employees have hosted a variety of fundraising events. Coinciding with Tulloch’s 100th anniversary celebrations, employees held raffles, bake sales and dress down days. The team also took part in a 500 miles walking challenge, and nearly doubled its target by achieving 1,079 miles.

The Springfield Group donated an extra £2,500 to bring the final total to £5,470.28.

Tulloch MD Kieran Graham said, “We are so proud to have been part of the Cup of Kindness campaign and kickstarting our 100th year of business by supporting such a crucial local charity. As keen advocates of Mikesyline, we understand how important their work in addressing the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide is throughout our communities in the north of Scotland. We are pleased we have been able to contribute to the charity to allow them to support local people who need it most.”

Allana Stables, Bee the Change manager, added, “Kindness and community is a huge part of what Mikeysline is all about and we are overjoyed with the incredible amount raised by the team at Tulloch Homes. As a grassroots charity which receives no statutory funding, every penny is so important to ensuring we can provide our lifeline services to people of all ages and genders throughout the Highlands, Islands and Moray.”

Mikeysline provides support for anyone suffering mental health difficulties or suicidal thoughts via its text service on 07786 20 77 55 from Sunday to Thursday, 6-10pm and Friday-Saturday 7pm-7am, and can also be contacted via Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Webchat, as well as in person at their Hives across the regions.
