Glasgow contractor appoints new director

GLASGOW-based electrical, mechanical and fire & security contractor A Alexander Group has promoted operations manager David Hart to director.

David joined the company almost five years ago as a contract manager. He started his career as an apprentice electrician and has held senior roles in the industry including a stint as a training officer with The Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust (SECTT).

As well as looking after daily operations, David is also responsible for delivering the company’s apprenticeship programme.

MD Stewart Alexander said, “David has been invaluable in supporting the growth of the business and delivery of our large-scale contracts. He’s a great mentor to our apprentices and a terrific ambassador for the success of an apprenticeship as a career path which many of us share in the business.”

A. Alexander Group operates three divisions specialising in electrical, mechanical and fire & security services. Founded in 1962 as a father and son electrical company, it has grown into a multi-disciplinary businesses working on large scale projects including the new low carbon Danfoss Innovation Centre in Edinburgh, the £50 million Belgrave Logistics Park in Bellshill, and numerous care homes across the UK.
