CLARK Contracts recently raised £1,200 for Fresh Start Scotland, a charity which helps people who have been homeless to get established in their new homes.

The Paisley-based contractor held a fundraising event featuring a variety of games including bingo, basketball, Connect 4, Jenga, dominoes, and a balloon pop to win raffle prizes. There was pizza for lunch, a bake sale and a raffle, with the lucky winner receiving an additional day’s holiday.

Fresh Start works in partnership with volunteers and organisations from a broad section of the community. The charity delivers services designed to provide the practical and social support that helps people resettle successfully.

The money raised will be used to provide vital household supplies and appliances for Fresh Start’s Homeless Starter Packs.

Gordon Cunningham, MD at Clark Contracts said, “We are proud to have raised funds in support of Fresh Start Scotland. The vital work carried out by Fresh Start plays a crucial role in supporting individuals as they rebuild their lives. We hope this contribution will help make a meaningful difference to those in need.”

Darcey Joyce from Fresh Start added, “Moving into a new tenancy following often long periods in temporary accommodation can be an exciting, but daunting and overwhelming time for many, especially without owning household goods or having the funds available to purchase all the essentials to make a house a home. This is where the Starter Packs can help. Donations can make a huge difference to the experience of someone moving on from homelessness, financially and mentally, and lessen the cycle of repeat homelessness.”
