BPO Collections Limited has successfully secured the letting of two floors at 9 George Square in Glasgow.
Acting on behalf of landlord EPIC, Ryden and joint agents MC2 completed the transaction, which they said highlights the current demand for high-quality, ready-to-occupy accommodation in Glasgow.
The seventh floor of 9 George Square provides 7,000 sq ft of accommodation which benefits from a modern fit-out and pre-installed wiring, which proved to be the ‘perfect’ option for BPO Collections. The ability to utilise the existing fit out with minor alterations aligned with both parties’ commitment to ensuring a sustainable approach to the move.
All parties worked to agree a lease within a short period of time. Shortly after taking occupation, BPO continued to grow and in February acquired the 6th floor on a similar basis. The additional 6th floor provided fit-out with furniture and IT.
Leigh Perl, of EPIC, commented, “We are thrilled to welcome BPO Collections to our strong mix of occupiers at 9 George Square, further strengthening the building’s reputation as a prime office location and to have assisted their growth in such a short period of time. The landlord and tenant relationship already formed from completing the first floor allowed a swift acquisition of an additional floor.”
Alasdair Skeoch, of BPO Collections, added, “We have been based at George Square for many years and were keen to remain in the area due to the fantastic amenities and excellent transport links. Moving from a chambers style building into a modern open plan floorplate significantly improves our operational efficiency and team collaboration. When we required additional space, the ability to double our occupation and on the floor below was ideal.”
Gillian Giles, offices agency partner at Ryden, said, “The Glasgow market is showing a strong preference for workspaces featuring high specification fit outs to allow occupiers to save both time and money, which proved instrumental in securing this deal and ensuring a smooth transition for the tenant. Our close collaboration with Eric Thomson of Thomson Property Consultants, who represented the tenant, was also key to achieve a successful outcome for all parties.”
