
A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of copper cabling and other industrial materials in Aberdeen.
Police Scotland said that various businesses were targeted in the city between March and April this year, with cabling worth tens of thousands of pounds taken from a premises on Abbotswell Road on March 26.
Metal was then taken from a site on Langdykes Road on March 27, with high value metal then taken from a premises on the same road on April 14. Police Scotland said that some of the goods were later recovered.
A 31-year-old man is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 15 April in connection and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective constable Andrew Yule, Kittybrewster CID, said, “Stealing from businesses is not a victimless crime and these costs are passed on to consumers and the general public. We will use all resources available to get those responsible for such thefts. Anyone with any information on these incidents, or similar, should contact 101 quoting reference 1559 of 14 April.”
