EAST Kilbride-based engineering consultancy Dougall Baillie Associates has announced it is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year with a 10% increase in both revenue and employees.

The business works with clients ranging from large developers to SMEs, and across projects from single house extensions to major home developments.

Founded in 1985 by Willard Dougall and George Baillie, the company has grown steadily over the years and now employs 41 people.

MD Fergus Adams said, “As we celebrate 40 years in business, I’m proud to say our commitment to excellence continues to shine through – customer satisfaction remains exceptionally high, and we’re consistently earning new clients through the strength of our reputation and word-of-mouth. Our continued growth is reflected in the scale of projects we’re delivering – from securing major developments like Durieshill on the outskirts of Stirling, the largest single planning application in Scotland, to actively supporting the housing sector with 6,000 homes across live sites, 8,000 in the design and approval pipeline, and expert engineering input for local plan submissions that could unlock a further 23,000 homes.

“As a key player in tackling Scotland’s housing crisis, Dougall Baillie Associates is at the forefront of delivering sustainable, high-quality developments.”

DBA is a fully accredited Living Wage Employer and a member of the 5% club. The company is also a registered training provider with the Institution of Civil Engineers.

To attract new staff, it operates training schemes for employees leaving school where they can be enrolled in a technician apprentice scheme pursuing HNC qualification, or on its graduate apprentice scheme pursuing a degree level qualification at the University of Strathclyde.

Dougal Baillie Associates is also a registered legacy partner of the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and has recently raised funds for the Beatson Cancer Charity.
