TAYLOR Wimpey West Scotland has started construction on the final phase of new homes at
Newton Farm in Cambuslang.
Planning Permission in Principle for Phase 2 of the masterplan was granted in 2014. The housebuilder’s final development of 206 two, three, and four-bedroom homes will
complete the multi-million-pound vision for the location.
Construction of new homes in Newton Farm phase 1 started in 2007. The development has provided a wealth of benefits including two new primary schools, a range of affordable homes in line with Taylor Wimpey’s Section 75 obligations, local community and sporting facilities, areas of maintained open space and green corridors, playparks and cycleways, a retail area, as well as transport infrastructure and upgrades to the River Clyde Walkway.
Martin Findlay, technical director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said, “It’s hugely significant that we secured our final detailed planning application from South Lanarkshire Council earlier this year to complete the Newton Farm masterplan, and we are proud to have started construction work to allow us to deliver our last development of new homes.
