BANCON Homes has promoted Andy Stewart to the role of technical and planning director.

A qualified architect and certified Passivhaus designer, Andy brings experience in residential design, planning, and sustainable development to the role. Before joining Bancon Homes in 2021, he spent several years in private practice, specialising in large-scale masterplans and complex brownfield developments, working with both private housebuilders and affordable housing providers.

Andy’s relationship with Bancon Homes began before his formal appointment, having collaborated with the company for nearly eight years as a client. Since joining as head of design and technical, he is said to have played a key role in strengthening Bancon’s internal design team, enhancing project control and driving design quality. His role later evolved to head of design and planning, where he focused on planning strategy and the pre-construction process.

In his new role, Andy will lead Bancon’s design and planning function, ensuring a ‘seamless and efficient’ journey from concept through to planning approval.

Alongside his contribution to the private homes division, Andy will also play a key role in shaping Bancon Group’s growing Land Led Affordable (LLA) housing portfolio. He will work with the LLA team to design and deliver affordable housing developments across Scotland.

“I’m excited to continue working with the team to bring our projects to life,” Andy Stewart said. “Sustainable design has always been a key interest of mine, and I look forward to incorporating more environmentally responsible practices into our developments to create even better homes.”

Jamie Tosh, MD of Bancon Homes and Construction, added, “Andy has been a vital part of our team since 2021, helping to evolve our design practices and achieve our strategic goals. As director, he will play a key role at board level, shaping our future growth and development.”
