ENTERTAINMENT destination XSite Braehead has announced it is benefiting from a £12.6 million investment in the site, which includes plans to open the world’s longest indoor e-karting track and e-sports venue, K1 Speed, later this year.
The money is drawn from a partnership of tenant and owner contributions and follows a successful 2024 for XSite, which saw the Renfrew-based centre welcome over 2.1 million people. Q4 was particularly successful with November footfall up by 10.4% versus 2023 and December up 14.5% compared with the previous month.
As well as the introduction of K1 Speed, existing tenants continue to invest heavily. TENPIN has undergone a transformation with the addition of four new bowling lanes, two private karaoke rooms, and a makeover of the bar. This refurbishment will be followed this year by Paradise Island Golf which is undertaking an overhaul, including the addition of a high ropes course. Family entertainment centre Funstation has also expanded.
Kitty Vaughan, head of UK leisure and F&B at Pradera Lateral, XSite’s asset management team, said, “2025 is a landmark year for XSite Braehead with the introduction of new tenants, and significant enhancements to the already popular existing attractions. This large scale, unprecedented investment highlights XSite Braehead’s ongoing commitment to evolving and enhancing the visitor experience and with this we are setting the centre up for an extended period of exceptional growth.”
