TO mark International Women’s Day (IWD), Tilbury Douglas hosted an event that brought together more than 100 people to discuss the role of inclusion and collaboration in driving industry progress.
The Diversity in Action: Women Driving Innovation in Science & Construction event was held at the Medicine Manufacturing Innovation Centre, Centre for Process Innovation. A panel of experts shared their insights on innovation, diversity, and the future of the built environment. The discussion also included a session from Beatson charity on cervical cancer awareness.
The panel was moderated by Louise Clark, business development manager at Tilbury Douglas, who highlighted the importance of encouraging collaboration across major projects. She was joined by an panel of speakers that included:
- Claire MacLeod, Grand Challenge lead at CPI, leading pharmaceutical manufacturing innovation
- Karen Pickering, estate development manager at The University of Edinburgh, overseeing major campus developments
- Tracey-Leigh Findlay, development & commercial director at Hub West Scotland, delivering public-sector infrastructure
- Laura James, director, infrastructure at BakerHicks, shaping major projects in defence, aviation, and life sciences.
