PROCAST Group has been awarded a £1 million contract to begin the transformation of the derelict Greenfield House in Alloa.

The Hamilton-based business will start to update the historic manor house next month. Working with Clackmannanshire Council, Procast will deliver phases 1 and 2 to make the building wind and watertight.

The project will largely involve remedial work to the roof, glazing and gutters to start the process of bringing the building back to its former glory. Phase 2 will involve eliminating damp and dry rot, along with plaster repairs and some decoration.

The building, which has been empty for eight years, is still to have its final use decided by the council.

Derek Innes, owner and MD of Procast Group, said, “We are excited to commence work on this fantastic heritage building – which has stood in the centre of Alloa for more than 130 years. Our hope is to be part of the journey to restoring this stunning manor house to past glories and, by commencing Phase 1, we believe we are taking a huge stride forward to achieving that.

“Hopefully, come the end of this initial project, we are able to continue with the works to bring this cultural landmark back up to scratch and maintain its prominence in the town for another century.”
