Housebuilder raises over £150,000 at annual charity dinner

BARRATT Homes West Scotland hosted an audience of 600 people to help raise £153,000 towards supporting children and families in need.

The company held its annual charity dinner at Glasgow’s Hilton Hotel on February 21, with this year’s proceeds going to Aberlour Children’s Charity – an organisation that tackles poverty and discrimination to help disadvantaged children.

The charity offers care and support to families as early as possible, including residential and foster care, recovery for those affected by addiction, support for disabled children, financial relief to families struggling to provide food, heating, and clothing as well as early intervention to prevent troubles deepening.

SallyAnn Kelly OBE, chief executive at Aberlour Children’s Charity, said, “This is a mind-blowing donation from Barratt Homes West Scotland and will truly make a difference to the families and children we help. The sum is so generous and we want to thank every single person who contributed. Our tailored services help every young person be the best they can be, and this money will give them the opportunity to overcome significant challenges in life. We couldn’t have raised this cash without the help of the Barratt West Scotland team and we can’t thank them enough.”

Suzanne Craven, finance director and head of charity committee at Barratt Homes West Scotland, added, “Aberlour Children’s Charity is a fantastic organisation, helping thousands of families in need across Scotland. Operating for over 150 years, we are proud to support the team and hope our donation will make a difference to those who really need it. We’ll continue to provide help where we can and want to thank everyone who played a part in raising this money, without you it wouldn’t be possible.”
