A south of Scotland-based business that specialises in sustainable industrialised construction has announced it will host housing minister Paul McLennan for a regional business event.

Mr McLennan will join Prosper members for an ‘In Conversation With…’ event at Eco Group, Annan, on May 21, to explore opportunities for the future of housing in the region. The discussion will focus on support to unlock developments and the fundamental role housing plays in growing the regional economy.

Eco’s VASO Build Solutions – construction panels made from mostly recycled glass – are described as one of a range of ‘world-first’ decarbonisation technologies and carbon mitigation strategies developed by the business.

Led by founder Eddie Black, Eco specialises in contract manufacturing, organic brand manufacturing, and services to manufacturing across the UK. Eddie said, “We are delighted to host the minister for housing Paul McLennan. We thank Mr McLennan for taking the time to visit Eco for this event, and Mhairi Duncan, Prosper’s regional manager for central & south of Scotland, for bringing this opportunity to businesses in the region.

“Eco’s strategy, purpose, and ethos fully aligns with Prosper’s focus on investment, productivity, skilled workforce, business purpose, net zero and place-based growth.”

Mhairi Duncan, membership manager, Prosper, added, “Prosper gives members the chance to directly shape government thinking and action, and our event with Mr McLennan is a perfect example of this. The event will explore the opportunities for the future of housing in the region and give members in the region a chance to share their priorities.”

The event, open to Prosper members and stakeholders, takes place at Eco Group, Annan Business Park Way, Annan, on May 21, 10am-noon. To book visit: www.prosper.scot/events/paul-mclennan-msp/
