Anderson Bell Christie Building with Nature

ANDERSON Bell Christie (ABC) has announced that the practice is now offering Building with Nature accreditation, to ensure its masterplanning and architectural projects are in alignment with its ‘balanced approach’ to net zero carbon by 2045.

The firm revealed its champions high quality green infrastructure in placemaking, with a view to maximising benefits for people and the natural world.

ABC added that carefully considered landscape within built environments can:

  • remove carbon from the atmosphere, locking it into new timber growth and through the root system into soils
  • mitigate flood risks, slowing down water movement and improving the integrity of the ground
  • reduce urban heat island effects, providing important seasonal cooling to people and buildings
  • improve air quality, helping to filter pollutants from the atmosphere
  • enhance wellbeing, improving biodiversity

Approved Building With Nature assessor Dr Fatma Pelin Ekdi said, “I am delighted to provide the service to the clients of Anderson Bell Christie. Together we can deliver place-based net zero carbon solutions to benefit communities and enhance lives. Crucially, this approach will help our clients demonstrate compliance with National Planning Framework 4.”
