ORGANISATIONS helping people in need in Glasgow and the surrounding area are to receive a share of £14,000 in funding from HFD’s Charitable Foundation.
Six organisations will each receive donations from the charitable arm of commercial property company HFD, following a series of nominations from employees across the firm.
Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs; Whiteleys Retreat, an Ayrshire charity providing free respite breaks for children and their families with cancer or illness; Headway, a charity working to improve lives of individuals who have experienced brain injuries; and Brain Tumour Research all received grants of between £1,000 and £3,000.
High Blantyre Primary School was also nominated and received £3,000 to support the development of a new library facility for senior pupils and the community, following the local library being threatened by closure.
Chapelhall Community Development Group will also receive £3,000 to help with plans to transform the current senior citizen centre into a new community hub including café space, function hall and food bank.
Lauren McKenzie, trustee of the HFD Charitable Foundation, said, “These donations mark the start of another busy year for the Charitable Foundation and in 2025 we hope to support even more community groups and charities, giving back to the communities we serve. The six groups chosen for this funding round are all close to the hearts of our employees and it is great to be able to help them continue their efforts to bring positive change.
“By asking our teams to choose where the funding ends up, we can ensure that the causes closest to the workforce receive the recognition and support they deserve.”
