Stirling insulation specialist secures CCPI verification for Superwall Cavity Batts range

Superwall Cavity Batts range

STIRLING-based Superglass has secured Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) verification for its Superwall Cavity Batts range.

The firm said it is one of the first insulation products to have the verification, which is awarded to products where information on performance is ‘clear, accurate, accessible, up-to-date and unambiguous’.

The CCPI was initiated by the Construction Product Association (CPA) as a response to Dame Judith Hackitt’s review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety set up in the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy. It is designed to drive transformational change in product information management and marketing across the built environment, ensuring that marketing claims are evidence-based and substantiated to improve reliability and trust.

Superglass committed to the Code at the start of the year to demonstrate its pledge to being a ‘trusted and reliable’ producer of glass mineral wool insulation, and its Superwall Cavity Batts are the first products in its range to achieve verification.

Superglass’s Cavity Batt range is also British Board of Agrément (BBA) approved and deemed non-combustible with a fire classification of Euroclass A1 when tested to BS EN 13501-1 Reaction to Fire.

Tony Gordon, head of product management at Superglass, said, “Superglass products are trusted by builders across the UK and Ireland for their reliability, quality, and compliance with building regulations. Having third party verification from CCPI of our product marketing claims deepens that trust for our customers. It’s fantastic to have our Superwall Cavity Batts verified by CCPI – one of the first insulation products in the UK market to achieve that – and we are in the process of securing the verification across our product range.”

In recent months, the company has also introduced a new u-value calculator to help merchants and customers understand the thermal performance of various insulation applications, and an online Psi-value calculation service, where customers can download the new Psi-value guide and a selection of the most used junction types for the Superwall Cavity Batt range.
