ST Andrews Timber & Building Supplies has donated a giant teddy bear to the Prestonfield Primary School Christmas fair.

The school is raising money to buy classroom resources, make improvements to the playground, and help subsidise school trips for pupils.

With its Edinburgh HQ located just a stone’s throw from the school, St Andrews was delighted to help out with its contribution to the fundraiser which is being held on Saturday, 14 December (1pm-3pm).

If someone guesses the bear’s name on the day, they’ll get to take their new furry friend home.

Ryan Cockburn, transport manager at St Andrews’ city base, is a former pupil of Prestonfield Primary School. He said, “Being the primary school local to our main branch, we were delighted to play a part with our donation. I know how important the school is to the community and funds are vital to its ability to support its pupils in the best ways possible. Hopefully the fair raises lots of money which will make a big difference to the school for next year’s projects.”

As part of its ongoing Christmas charity work, the firm is also donating to the Cruden annual foodbank drive in support of Trussell UK and its network of local foodbanks.
