Saint-Gobain finalises deal to buy Kilwaughter Minerals

SAINT-Gobain has completed the acquisition of Kilwaughter Minerals, a provider of façade mortars and EWI systems in the UK and Ireland.

In October, Saint-Gobain announced it had reached a binding agreement on the deal. Following the conclusion of the regulatory process, the transaction has now completed and Kilwaughter has joined the Saint-Gobain group.

This move strengthens Saint-Gobain’s light and sustainable construction solutions for the whole building envelope for both new construction and renovation with Kilwaughter’s brands: K Rend (supplying façade mortars including renders, mortars, external coatings) and K Systems – a solution for external wall insulation.

Kilwaughter operates a manufacturing facility and limestone quarry near Larne in Northern Ireland and employs about 200 people. The business also operates three distribution centres in the Republic of Ireland, Scotland and England.
